Pomegranate-Rimmed Champagne Cocktails

You might have realized by now that my cocktail of choice usually involves champagne. I'm not really a liquor girl, but I'll never turn down a good champagne cocktail. The best thing about champagne cocktails is that they're so easy to dress up for holidays.

Still haven't mastered the art of photographing drinks. Sorry, folks.

Reduce a cup of pomegranate juice by simmering it over medium-low heat so that it's thick and syrupy, then rim a champagne flute in the syrup. Flip and let the syrup drip down the side of the flute. Voila! Instant "blood" -- perfect for a Halloween soiree.

When you come to Austin, you'll have to visit Vino Vino at 42nd & Guadalupe. They are the kings of the bubbles.

This is great! Makes me want to throw a Halloween party just so I can serve it.
